We found out that we will be living in the district of Ntcheu, so I thought I would share a little bit about the actual district. We will be traveling outside of this region, but this is the area we will call home for 5 weeks.

The district covers an area of 3,424 km.² and has a population of 370,757. It lies half way between Malawi's major cities of Blantyre and Lilongwe the capital city. Most of the occupants of Ntcheu District are of Ngoni origin, descendants of the South African Shaka Zulu's tribe.

For more information on the country of Malawi itself, this website offers a pretty good overview.
